This book takes a unique look into the conservation status of many of the rarer cacti of Mexico. It is an unfortunate fact that for some collectors the rarer the plant, the more desirable its acquisition. However collecting is not the only threat that these plants face as they may also threatened by agriculture or urbanisation. This book evaluates the threats to each species covered. It also gives some information on what is being done and ideas on what should be done. A chapter on the propagation of these plants is contributed by Andrea Cattabriga. |
