Epithelantha micromeris (Eng.)Web.This picture of Epithelantha micromeris was taken in habitat in Northern Mexico in the area of Hippolito and probably represents var.greggi. The plant illustrated is a relatively large cluster some 25cm in diameter. Although regraded as a choice plant in cultivation it is relatively plentiful and widespread in habitat. In cultivation it is relatively easy to grow in a sunny position and sandy compost. The rather small flowers are often followed by attractive red fruits which contrast nicely with the white to creamish spines.
